The villa

Villa Bufo sits in the small coastal village of Mimice, surrounded by Mediterranean pine and olive trees on a generous 2,000 sqm plot, just a short walk from a pebble beach, local restaurant, and shop. Its setting offers a sense of privacy while still being within easy reach of the Dalmatian coast’s highlights, with Split only a 30-minute drive away.

Designed for groups of up to eight guests, the villa combines comfort with thoughtful amenities. Four well-proportioned bedrooms - three doubles and one twin - each feature en-suite bathrooms and TVs, with two rooms on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Upstairs bedrooms open onto balconies with views across the sea or towards the mountains and the island of Brač. The outdoor areas are centred around a 40 sqm swimming pool, with sun loungers positioned to take in the surrounding scenery. Guests can also enjoy a private sauna and a small fitness area with a treadmill and exercise bike, while younger visitors have their own playground with a swing, slide, and wooden playhouse. Meals can be prepared in both the indoor kitchen and the outdoor summer kitchen with barbecue, with a covered dining area providing a relaxed setting for evenings. Inside, the open-plan living and dining space includes a TV and PlayStation, along with a pool table for a bit of friendly competition. Villa Bufo offers a well-equipped base for a relaxed stay on Croatia’s coastline.

Mimice is a small coastal village known for its relaxed pace and two pebble beaches with calm, shallow waters. The seafront is largely car-free, making it particularly appealing for families, while a handful of local restaurants, bars, and a traditional tavern in the old village serve Dalmatian dishes, including freshly caught fish paired with local olive oil and regional wines.

Just 12km away, the town of Omiš offers a wider selection of restaurants and historical sites, as well as access to the Cetina River, where guests can try rafting, canoeing, or zip-lining through the canyon. For day trips, Split is around a 30-minute drive and is home to the UNESCO-listed Diocletian’s Palace, while Trogir, set across a small island, showcases a mix of Renaissance and Romanesque architecture. The Makarska Riviera is also within easy reach, known for its beaches, harbour, and access to the Biokovo Nature Park. Slightly further afield, the Krka National Park and its waterfalls can be reached in around 90 minutes. Boat trips to the island of Brač are available from both Split and Makarska. Split Airport is approximately 38km from the villa, and there is private parking available for several cars.
