Lefkada is a beautiful, lush green island, brimming with captivating Blue Flag beaches, archaeological sights, religious monuments, over twenty five museums, pretty Greek villages and gorgeous unspoilt countryside sprinkled with olive groves, lush pine and cypress forests, beautiful waterfalls and one thousand metre mountain peaks. Villa Dellas is located on the top of a hill in Perigiali, a lush green area of the island at the foot of the east mountains. The village is delightful with a tiny port and some lovely beaches. It is just north of the popular tourist resort of Nidri. With amazing amenities, irresistible sandy beaches, unforgettable views across the islets of Heloni, Sparti, Madouri and Scorpios, gastronomic delights, incredible scenery including famous waterfalls and the Dimosari Gorge, Nidri is wonderful. Guests enjoy the views out to the Ionian Sea and the Princess Islands from almost every angle of Villa Dellas. Its position is truly remarkable.

The villa boasts a wonderful open plan design where all the spaces flow beautifully into each other. The kitchen is immaculate with every appliance you could wish for and a wonderfully sociable breakfast bar. Next to this is a gorgeous, trendy dining table and perspex chairs where you can dine with a view. There are three sets of floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto the terrace and pool. The dining area is open plan with the elegant living space with its sumptuous corner sofa and chairs and modern artwork. There are yet more glass doors so that guests enjoy spectacular panorama without moving from their comfy seats.

In total there are five glorious bedroom suites, all with fantastic views of the islands and the glistening sea. If they do not have full length glass doors opening to a balcony or terrace, they offer huge picture windows which frame the gorgeous vistas. Each of the bedrooms offer superb furnishings with comfy beds dressed with exquisite linens. The large upper balcony is beautifully furnished, just like the main terrace. The bathrooms are wondrous with top notch fittings and beautiful tiles. They come with fluffy towels and luxury toiletries too.

The main terrace is amazing, the perfect place for early evening cocktails, alfresco dining as the sun goes down, breakfast with a view and lounging by the gorgeous infinity pool. The alfresco dining area has been cleverly built beside the house so that you are shaded from the Greek sun. The villa boasts a huge built-in barbecue and wood-fired oven that will please the barbecue masters among you.

Villa Dellas is located on the peaceful hillside of Perigiali on the east coast of Lefkada.

Lefkada as is a magical island surrounded by beautiful, knock-out beaches and amazing coves and with a lush interior brimming with scenic hilly countryside and hilltop villages. You can climb mountain peaks, laze on a beach and later dine in style at one of the island’s fantastic restaurants. It is quite remarkable that Lefkada remains under the tourist radar and remains more of a special secret. Lefkas is connected to the mainland by a long causeway and floating bridge. It is an easy drive from Preveza airport. Among the island’s most beautiful beaches are Egremni, Kathisma and the mesmerising Porto Katsiki which is loved for its golden sands and fascinating landscape. The unique beauty of Egremni’s 2.5 km beach has made it one of the most photographed landscapes on the island. Its name comes from the impressive cliffs that surround the beach. Kathisma Beach faces the Ionian archipelago, offering fine dazzling white sand, sparkling turquoise waters and a good selection of beach bars and sun loungers. The best beaches for windsurfing and kitesurfing are Agios Ioannis and Vassiliki. Nidri, just south of the villa, boasts a very organised beach with an excellent watersports centre.

Nidri is the largest of the tourist towns with Nikiana is the second. The town boasts an endless list of amenities and activities, irresistible sandy beaches, unforgettable views, an excellent dining scene and beautiful scenery. Nidri and Sivota are favourites with yacht charter firms. Island hopping is very popular, very easy and very enjoyable. Excursion boats can take you to the local islets and the secluded coastal bays of Lefkada. Ferries can take you to Ithaca and Kefalonia. The gorgeous Geni peninsula is a fifteen minute drive around the bay from Nidri or a five minute crossing by boat. Geni village is a friendly, traditional fishing village where you will be made to feel very welcome in its charming waterfront tavernas. Another fabulous place to visit is the medieval castle of Santa Maura.

The pretty, whitewashed church of Agios Ioannis Antzoussis dates back to the 16th century and is one of the oldest churches in Lefkada. There are some fascinating archeological, historical and cultural sites to visit on this very special island. Wine lovers enjoy Lefkada Earth, the home of some fine local wines. You can combine this stop with a fresh seafood lunch overlooking the brilliant blue waters at Sivota or Vasiliki.

Lefkada enjoys a network of trails throughout the island through forests, streams and mountains. Some of best places to see are the Skari Mountain with its centenarian oak trees, the gorge of Melissa, the water springs of Dafni and Kersia and Elati Mountain. When hiking, you will enjoy old monasteries, small churches and gorgeous villages. The mountain village of Karya, is lovely with its central square full of taverna tables under the shade of a huge plant tree. Visitors enjoy the local Karysaniki embroidery, once a vital part of the national dress. North-east of Karya and surrounded by towering cypress trees, mountain scenery and craggy cliffs is Lazarata. There are two notable churches, Agios Dionissis and Agios Spiridonas. Lazarata is a great place for a stroll to enjoy the neat vineyards, olive groves, citrus plantations and the red-roofed houses. You can take an organised mountain bike tour of the island, a great way to see the island from a different perspective. Some cycling tours also include the stunning neighbouring island of Meganisi.
