Set in the hills of the Sorrento peninsula, enjoy panoramic sea views from your poolside terrace and upper balcony at this spacious and welcoming residence.

Villa Chimera exudes authentic charm across its gorgeous interiors. We adore the hand-painted majolica flooring across many of the rooms bringing vibrant splashes of colour so typical of the Amalfi coast. The open-plan living and dining space is so characterful and sliding doors open to the vast terrace and large swimming pool. Prepare delicious meals in the kitchen and serve al-fresco making the most of those spectacular vistas.

Head up the quirky staircase and you will find four comfortable air-conditioned bedrooms on the upper floor, allowing Villa Chimera to sleep up to 8 guests. There are two double bedrooms with pretty floors and access to the balcony for more sweeping views. Another double bedroom and a twin bedroom complete this floor alongside a bathroom and shower room. The third shower room is downstairs, as is a sofa-bed for an additional 2 guests.

This holiday home is located in a residential hamlet within walking distance to a restaurant (open seasonally) and only 1.5km by car from the local village with its good sized supermarket. Massa Lubrense is loved for its many walking trails and glorious views in all directions. Hike along winding roads and centuries-old mule tracks and come across idyllic coves and beautiful little bays. Stop off for lunch overlooking the sea in Marina del Cantone or hop on a boat to tour the coast.

A little further afield, soak up the iconic charm of Sorrento, take a ferry to the island of Capri or venture to the dramatic Amalfi coast for picture-perfect villages such as Positano, Praiano and beyond in this enchanting part of southern Italy.

Villa Chimera is located in the hills of Massa Lubrense with glorious views, only 12km from Sorrento. In a residential hamlet, there is a restaurant within walking distance and a good-sized supermarket 1.5km away.

On the Sorrento peninsula, this is a great base for exploring the wonderful walking and hiking routes across the Massa Lubrense, making the most of the stunning vistas in every direction. Pass lemon orchards and olive trees as you come across paths, some following ancient mule tracks, with a range of marked trails for various abilities. A challenging hike close to the hamlet leads down towards Crapolla Cove or experience Recommone Beach with its summer beachside restaurant.

A short drive away, Marina del Cantone is another idyllic spot overlooking the Gulf of Salerno with crystal-clear sea. Stop off for lunch on a sea-facing terrace - look out for Spaghetti alla Nerano on the menu, so loved by Stanley Tucci! Food lovers will also adore the many delicious local products of the area (lemons, tomatoes, cheese, olive oil and more).

In the summer months, ferries depart Marina Lobra, Marina del Cantone and Sorrento to the island of Capri for a wonderful day out. Tour the island by boat to admire its captivating beauty, follow walking paths across the island or simply take the funicular to Capri Town to soak up its summer ambience.

The charm of Sorrento also awaits, one of the region’s most visited destinations. Get lost in the warren of lanes in the old town, discover enchanting historic treasures, potter around little shops and stop off for coffee and cold drinks on café terraces.

In the other direction, the perched villages of the Amalfi coast are also worthy of your time from picture-perfect Positano (16km) and lesser known Praiano (25km) to Amalfi (33km) and Ravello (40km). Follow winding roads with stunning scenery as you drive or look out for summer boat tours so you can truly relax and take in the incredible surroundings.
