Across two wings of the house, Villa Capricorne’s architecture tells a story of Provençal charm, enhanced by modern touches with airy interiors, natural materials and five pretty bedrooms, each with air - conditioning. The open - plan kitchen flows effortlessly into the dining and living spaces, all leading outdoors through French doors. Al - fresco moments come easily here, whether it’s breakfast beside the bougainvillea, lazy afternoons by the large swimming pool (which can be heated for a supplement), or evening meals accompanied by golden light.

The main stone house holds three restful bedrooms (two designed for children) and a bright living area with a fireplace. Across the terrace, an ochre - coloured wing houses a stunning master double with French doors onto the terrace, and a second double bedroom upstairs with its own private balcony and glorious views. Every space invites lingering and unwinding.

Just a short drive away lies the postcard - perfect village of Cabris, with its cafés, restaurants and unbeatable vistas over the Côte d’Azur hinterland. In nearby Grasse, immerse yourself in the heritage of perfume - making or wander local markets filled with flowers or southern French delights. For a change of pace, Cannes is just over half an hour by car - think palm - fringed beaches, luxury boutiques and high - end dining.

In the French Riviera hinterland, just a short drive from Cabris and Grasse, Villa Capricorne enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding landscapes and is only 35km from Nice Airport. It’s lovely to be able to walk down to a local bakery for your morning croissants (around 10 minutes away) whilst there are good - sized supermarkets, restaurants and other amenities within a short drive.

This part of southern France is a true delight, where rolling hills dotted with olive groves and pine forests give way to charming hilltop villages. Cabris (5km), perched on a rocky outcrop, is a picturesque hilltop commune with cobbled lanes, inviting terraces and sensational views stretching to the sea. Also close by, Grasse (3km) is known worldwide as the perfume capital of France, where visitors can tour historic perfumeries such as Fragonard and Molinard, or explore the fragrant gardens and old town with its Baroque cathedral and narrow alleyways.

A little further afield, both Valbonne (10km) and Mougins (12km) exude character and French Riviera charm. Valbonne’s 16th - century arcaded square hosts a famous Friday morning market and fine restaurants, while Mougins is renowned for its culinary scene and strong ties to Picasso, who spent his final years there. Both offer a quintessential Provençal experience within easy reach of the coast.

Cannes (17km) and Antibes (25km), each just over half an hour away by car, offer glamour and glorious beaches, but also historic old quarters and superb cultural attractions. Antibes in particular invites hiking opportunities along the Cap d’Antibes coastal path, a scenic trail winding past secluded coves, opulent villas and Mediterranean vistas. It’s a wonderful contrast to the lively marinas and bustling markets found nearby.

For those craving nature, Lac de Saint - Cassien (15) is just a short drive south - west. This beautiful lake is perfect for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking and even pedalo rides. With picnic spots, shaded walks and forest trails, it’s a serene escape from the Riviera’s glitz and a favourite with locals on warm summer days.
