The living area is cosy and comfortable, featuring home-from-home comforts such as a smart TV and WiFi, and there is an indoor dining area with a table and chairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’ll need for preparing snacks and meals for the family during your stay, including an extra-large fridge freezer, oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, and high chairs on request.

The luxurious bathrooms are kitted out with a range of toiletries, hairdryers and towels, and you’ll find robes and slippers as well as extra bed linens and a choice of pillows in each of the four queen-size bedrooms as well as the twin bedroom. Villa Sun Garden is set within lush Mediterranean gardens overlooking the glittering blue of the Adriatic and is just a stone’s throw away from all of the culture and history that the stunning city of Dubrovnik has to offer. Here you’ll find aristocratic palazzi, elegant Baroque churches and medieval forts, all nestled alongside classy seafood restaurants and trendy wine bars.

You’re never far from a beach here (mostly pebble) or the sea, where you’ll be able to enjoy scuba diving and sea kayaking. If that all sounds like a bit too much effort, why not simply grab an ice cream from one of the nearby parlours or some snacks and a cocktail from one of the lounge bars, hire a sunbed and parasol for the afternoon and soak up the sun and the views? Or perhaps take a stroll along the main pedestrian thoroughfare through the Old Town to check out some of the souvenir shops and pretty cafes. In the mornings, you’ll find the open-air market here, bursting with fresh, local produce such as cherries and strawberries, figs, peaches, oranges, lemons, pomegranates and walnuts….and once you’ve stocked up, we recommend stopping off at one of the artisan bakeries to enjoy fresh bread filled with slabs of local cheese and prosciutto, and a slice of homemade apple strudel.

Naval history buffs will enjoy a visit to the Maritime Museum that overlooks the old harbour. Exhibits here include model ships, navigational equipment, flags and maps, harking back to the 16th Century when Dubrovnik had one of the world’s largest fleets. Afterwards, you could take a taxi-boat from the old harbour to the Lokrum islet to explore the abandoned 11th century Benedictine Monastery that stands there, or take a ferry to the Elafiti islands where you can enjoy an afternoon of swimming, snorkelling and cliff-diving, before heading to the beach bar for early evening drinks as the sun goes down.

In the balmy evenings, you’ll find no-end of restaurants in Dubrovnik offering candle-lit tables overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy local dishes such as lobster risotto, swordfish and grilled sea bream. Afterwards, you could perhaps indulge in a mojito before taking a stroll along with one of the quiet side streets to one of the mellow and cosy wine bars.
