On the other side of the estate, days unfold around the generous 13 - metre swimming pool, completely private and framed by a large sun terrace with loungers for soaking up the southern warmth.

Inside the main house, a soaring open - plan living and dining area brings rustic elegance to life with its exposed stone walls and double - height ceilings. The farmhouse kitchen is equipped for long, lazy meals, while four bedrooms and three bathrooms offer comfortable privacy.

Part of a beautiful countryside estate, Mas Saint - Cernin enjoys a superb location on the border between Dordogne and Lot - et - Garonne, just a 20 - minute drive south - east of Bergerac.

Only 5.5km by car, Issigeac is one of France’s “plus beaux villages”, renowned for its medieval charm and thriving Sunday morning market. Here, you’ll find everything from fresh bread and croissants at the local bakeries to leisurely lunches at traditional café - bars. It’s a gorgeous village to explore and it’s wonderful to be so close.

A little further afield, Villeréal (21km) and Castillonnès (15km) both provide further choice with bustling weekly markets, restaurants and all essential amenities. Castillonnès in particular is home to Les Remparts, a restaurant praised for its exceptional cuisine. Each village showcases the unique character of the area with timber - framed houses, shaded squares and a laid - back rhythm of life that defines this idyllic region.
