Set on a hillside at the end of a long driveway, Le Souquet Hall emerges in quiet grandeur amid the rolling countryside of Tarn-et-Garonne. This beautifully renovated abode unfolds across three distinct dwellings offering an elegant blend of traditional charm, privacy and modern comfort for families and groups of up to 14 guests.

Inside the main three-storey farmhouse, spacious lounges with fireplaces and inviting nooks are ideal for slow afternoons with a book, pack of cards or film on Netflix. The traditional kitchen and dining area opens to the terrace for peaceful breakfasts or you can choose to dine al-fresco on the characterful shaded patio with such charming surroundings.

There are five bedrooms in the main house, each with individual character, whilst the Pavilion is a few steps away with its pretty double bedroom, en suite bathroom and French windows opening out to the garden. The seventh and eighth bedrooms can be found in a lovely little annexe near the boules barn, also home to an open-plan lounge and kitchenette and shared shower room. This set-up could suit a group of friends or intergenerational families.

Set within mature, landscaped gardens, the grounds invite both relaxation and play. Wander among fig trees and rose bushes, challenge friends to boules in the floodlit barn, or cool off in the private heated swimming pool after a walk through the orchard. A characterful pigeonnier tower by the pool offers a touch of whimsy and convenience, with a fridge and shower just steps from the water’s edge.

Le Souquet Hall lies just a 10-minute drive from Castelnau-Montratier, where local shops, restaurants and perhaps even hot air balloon rides await. Even closer, golfers of all ages will enjoy the 9-hole course just a short walk away with its clubhouse for light lunches and tennis court that is available to rent.

Meanwhile, history lovers and outdoor adventurers can explore Lauzerte’s bastide beauty, Cahors’ renowned vineyards or the wild landscapes of the Causses du Quercy. From medieval towns to prehistoric caves, the region’s heritage runs deep.

Le Souquet Hall is located in the Tarn-et-Garonne countryside, close to the Lot border. This part of southwestern France, the Quercy Blanc, is a beguiling patchwork of beautiful, medieval villages and tranquil riverbanks, perfectly suited for guests seeking both relaxation and discovery.

Sports fans will appreciate the nearby 9-hole golf course, just 700 metres away, complete with clubhouse restaurant (for light lunches) and a tennis court you can rent by the hour. Wonderful walks pass nearby and there are horse-riding opportunities within a short distance by car.

Around 10 minutes away, Castelnau-Montratier (7km) beckons with its handsome arcaded square and vibrant weekly market alongside restaurants, a supermarket and other useful amenities. A little further lies Montcuq (15km), a quintessential French village famed for its Sunday market, medieval donjon and laid-back atmosphere.

Lauzerte (17km), a beautifully preserved bastide village only 20 minutes away, is a delight to explore, especially on summer Thursday evenings when the night market and ‘fête des repas’ fill the streets with music, food and festivity. Indeed, summer brings a joyful rhythm to village life, with open-air dinners under the stars where local producers serve regional fare at communal tables in the square. Music and dancing follow as the warm evenings stretch on.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Le Souquet is a gateway to some of the region’s finest natural escapes. Wild swim in the clear waters of the Lot, Célé and Aveyron rivers, or set off for a paddleboard or kayak adventure from Bouziès (52km) or Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (49km). To the south, the Canal Latéral à la Garonne offers a more leisurely pace, ideal for cycling beneath shaded plane trees or serene boat trips.
