Dating back to 1645 and beautifully restored with exceptional care, Le Manoir de Morlaàs is set in open countryside on the edge of a pretty Béarn village. The ground floor flows from a characterful cook’s kitchen to a charming breakfast room, a formal dining room and a salon with generous seating and a library. Each of the four manor house bedrooms is ensuite, whilst the fifth bedroom can be found in a separate summer house alongside a living area with sofa - bed.

Outdoors, days unfold beside the 10 - metre private pool, with a sundeck and loungers ready for lazy afternoons. Long lunches stretch into evenings on the vine - shaded terrace, where a Spanish barbecue invite convivial moments under the stars. A boules court and a handful of bicycles offer gentle adventure, while picturesque corners in the garden beckon with the promise of calm. We also love the firepit in the wooded garden with its rustic log seating.

Set on the edge of Morlaàs, the manoir is just a 1.5km drive or cycle ride from traditional bakeries, a weekly market and relaxed café bars. The historic city of Pau lies less than half an hour by car, offering elegant boulevards, cultural delights and sweeping views to the Pyrenees.

Further afield, the Atlantic coast’s glamour awaits in Biarritz, while San Sebastian tempts with world - class tapas just across the Spanish border, both exceptional days out.

Set in the open countryside, yet conveniently close to the outskirts of the village it’s a 1.5km drive to Morlaàs (some guests do choose to walk - please note the local roads do not have pavements). The village itself is steeped in history, with its Romanesque church and traditional village centre, home to three bakeries, café - bars, a good - sized supermarket and a lively weekly market - ideal for stocking up on local delights.

Meanwhile, Pau (14km) is a vibrant town renowned for its elegant architecture, leafy boulevards and sweeping views of the Pyrenees.
