As you approach along its private drive, the house appears gently from the landscape, framed by views that stretch out across golden fields and wooded horizons.

Inside, the interiors blend character and comfort, with exposed beams, generous living spaces and thoughtful furnishings. A modern fully equipped kitchen with a central island and wine fridge awaits whilst the traditional living room with UK satellite TV flows into the dining room and out to the garden beyond. Other living spaces across the house provide room for groups to gather or guests to retreat with a book or a glass of wine.

Set in five hectares of private grounds leading to open countryside, La Rouquette is made for outdoor living. The private 14-metre pool catches the sun, surrounded by a terrace dotted with loungers. An outdoor dining area is ideal for long summer lunches, while evenings call for games on the boules court or a glass of Armagnac on the terrace. Table tennis and a tennis court (for leisurely play) offer further diversions, making this an excellent choice for families and friends alike.

Positioned between the charming market towns of Mauvezin and L’Isle-Jourdain, the house offers easy access to authentic Gascon life. Local highlights include the grand Château de Laréole, the medieval bastide of Cologne and the natural pleasures of L'Isle Jourdain, where lakeside walks and golf await. The hilltop Gers town of Mauvezin bustles on market day and comes alive in summer with food festivals and open-air celebrations. Even closer, it’s a leisurely stroll or short drive to the 18th century Château de Drudas with its hotel-restaurant and spa.

In the rolling countryside of the Haute-Garonne, La Rouquette enjoys a secluded position not far from the border of the Gers and Tarn-et-Garonne. Surrounded by golden fields, this countryside escape sits near the charming market towns of Mauvezin (22km) and L’Isle-Jourdain (23km), offering guests easy access to the best of the region’s rural charm and practical conveniences.

Just over 1.5km from the house, the beautifully restored Château de Drudas offers an elegant hotel dining experience, along with a luxurious spa, jacuzzi, sauna and treatment room. Guests can walk there in around half an hour, following remote country roads (no pavements) or it’s a 3-minute drive.

A short 10-minute drive brings you to Cadours (6.5km), where you’ll find everything needed for a comfortable stay - from a large supermarket and pharmacy to petrol stations, bars and restaurants. Both Mauvezin and L’Isle-Jourdain offer further amenities, lively markets and excellent dining options, whilst the Michelin-starred Le Puits Saint-Jacques is half an hour by car.

There’s no shortage of things to explore locally. A short drive takes you to the striking Château de Laréole (9km), a 16th-century castle with ornate French gardens. The medieval bastide village of Cologne (14km), with its timber-framed houses and atmospheric streets, is another nearby gem. L’Isle-Jourdain (23km) is a delight for families and foodies alike, with a scenic lake, golf course, thrilling water sports and a vibrant Saturday market.

Crossing over to the Gers, this area is renowned for its idyllic countryside, dotted with vineyards, sleepy villages and bustling market towns like Mauvezin, where a buzzing Monday market fills the medieval square with colour and character. The town hosts summer festivals celebrating garlic, food and music, with entertainment for all ages.
