The villa

Surrounded by the green countryside of County Clare, with views towards Doonagore Castle and the Atlantic coast close by, Emerald House is a wonderful setting for generations of the family to spend time together. Sleeping up to 28 guests across 11 en - suite bedrooms, there’s room for grandparents, parents, children and extended family to share a holiday while still having plenty of space of their own.

Days at the house can centre around time together, whether that’s long family meals, evenings beside the open fire or a drink at the stone bar. Several living spaces offer quieter corners when needed, while younger guests can make the most of the games room, tennis court and outdoor play village.

Beyond the grounds, the location is a real part of the experience. Doolin, known for its traditional Irish music, is just half a mile away, while some of western Ireland’s most memorable landscapes are within easy reach. Walk along the dramatic Cliffs of Moher, discover the limestone terrain of the Burren or head to Doolin Pier for a ferry to the Aran Islands. Emerald House offers families the space to come together, with a beautiful corner of Ireland waiting to be explored.

Emerald House sits in the countryside just outside Doolin, a small village on County Clare’s Atlantic coast known for its traditional Irish music, welcoming pubs and easy access to some of the west coast’s best - known sights. The village is just half a mile from the house, making it easy to head out for a meal or an evening of live music.

The surrounding landscape is one of the main reasons to visit this part of Ireland. The Cliffs of Moher are close by, with walking routes offering far - reaching views across the Atlantic, while the unusual limestone landscape of the Burren provides a complete change of scenery. From Doolin Pier, visitors can also take a ferry to the Aran Islands or see the Cliffs of Moher from the water.

Further afield, days out can take in the beaches and coastal towns of County Clare, while Galway makes a rewarding addition to a longer stay. Whether exploring on foot, by car or out on the water, Emerald House is well placed for experiencing this distinctive stretch of Ireland’s west coast.
