The villa

Casa Muda is a contemporary four - bedroom villa in the Muda Reserve, surrounded by pine forest and extensive private grounds in the Comporta region. With plenty of space, strong architectural design and a private pool, it works particularly well for families or groups looking to explore the Alentejo coast while having a peaceful base of their own.

Natural materials and warm, earthy colours feature throughout the interiors, while floor - to - ceiling windows bring plenty of light into the house. The main living space combines a large lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, with sliding glass doors opening directly onto the terrace. The four bedrooms each have a king - size bed and ensuite bathroom, with several connecting to small outdoor courtyards built around individual trees. An additional room with a double sofa bed provides flexible sleeping space for extra guests, bringing the villa’s total capacity to ten.

Outside, the saltwater swimming pool is bordered by a wide timber deck, Mediterranean planting and mature pines. Guests can spread out between several seating areas, gather for meals on the covered dining terrace or make use of the barbecue and fire pit after a day at the beach.

Casa Muda is located in the Muda area of Comporta, a landscape of pine forest, rice fields and sandy Atlantic beaches on Portugal’s Alentejo coast. Carvalhal is the nearest village, where you’ll find restaurants, cafés and shops, while Comporta village is also within easy reach for a wider choice of places to eat and browse.

Beach days are an essential part of a stay here. Praia do Carvalhal and Praia do Pego are both nearby, with long stretches of sand, Atlantic waves and popular beach restaurants for lingering lunches by the sea. The surrounding area is also well suited to cycling, horse riding and walks through the countryside.

For a change of pace, explore the traditional villages and landscapes of the wider Alentejo region or head north towards the Sado Estuary. Lisbon and its international airport are approximately 1.5 hours away by car, making Casa Muda straightforward to reach for a coastal break.
