The villa

For a Mediterranean family holiday to remember, Casa Cervantes is a perfect choice. Set over three storeys and featuring three double bedrooms and one twin - perfect for the kids! This lovely villa is set in a quiet residential area in one of the prettiest areas the island has to offer. Grand in design both inside and out, Casa Cervantes has a light, fresh and modern decor throughout, in shades of white and grey with accents of light wood and bright turquoise offering welcome splashes of colour.

The living area lends itself perfectly to comfortable family life, with a corner sofa providing plenty of room for the whole tribe to snuggle up in front of the TV and a stylish white and glass dining table for enjoying busy breakfasts or delicious evening meals. The villa’s kitchen has plenty of food preparation space and features all of the appliances, utensils, crockery and glassware you’ll need during your stay. There's even a dishwasher, so there’ll be no arguments over who’s doing the cleaning up after dinner!

Each bedroom at Casa Cervantes is decorated in the same light and neutral shades as the villa’s common areas, with a colour - themed feature wall and furnishings for extra character. There is plenty of storage space, soft, comfortable beds, and homely touches. The villa also benefits from having three modern bathrooms; two with a shower and one with a bath and shower; there’s also a ground - floor guest toilet for extra convenience.

Casa Cervantes features a nicely paved outdoor terrace, where guests can chill out on the sun loungers or enjoy alfresco meals and a barbecue in the outdoor dining area. The villa’s private pool features waterfall jets and is accessible by Roman steps for easy access to the water for guests of all ages.

Nestled in a quiet residential street in one of the less ‘touristy’ areas of the island, Sonnenland, Casa Cervantes is ideally located for families or groups who want to enjoy Gran Canaria’s laid - back and relaxed vibe. The immediate area is home to cafes, shops and restaurants - mostly serving traditional Canarian food. Being slightly inland, Sonnenland doesn’t have a beach of its own but is just a short drive from the beaches and attractions of the high - end and popular resorts of Maspalomas and Meloneras, where you’ll find a wider range of cuisines available, as well as supermarkets, bars and souvenir shops.

Both of these towns are bursting with fantastic seafront restaurants offering a tantalising mix of fantastic views and even better food! If seafood is a particular favourite, you’re in for a treat, but you won’t struggle to find other types of cuisine here, either! The region has a wide range of delicious choices on offer, such as pulpo and prawns, grilled calamari, paella, steaks, tapas, vegetarian and vegan options, burgers and pasta dishes - as well as plenty of places to enjoy cocktails and pre - dinner drinks. Maspalomas is well - known for its upmarket shopping area, where you’ll find labels such as La Perla, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger. You’ll find this area to the right of the Maspalomas lighthouse, and if you walk further along the beach, you’ll come to the Bellavista and El Varadero shopping centres, which are home to even more bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as shops and boutiques.

We recommend visiting the area’s golden dunes while you’re here, a protected site that covers over a thousand acres. Most of the dunes can be explored on foot, allowing you to take in sights such as the beautiful lagoon and lighthouse, but we recommend taking a 40 - minute camel safari (more than enough time to spend on the back of a camel!) for a truly unique and fun way to experience this incredible landscape.

The Maspalomas Botanic Garden is an often underrated attraction that is well worth a visit while you’re here. Situated right next to the Salobre golf course, this collection of cacti and brightly coloured flowers provide the perfect photo opportunity pit stop.
