Outside, the 20 - metre private saltwater swimming pool takes centre stage and can be heated for added comfort. A shaded pergola provides a welcome spot for breakfast and leisurely lunches, while the Argentinian barbecue is ready for evenings spent dining outdoors. Head up to the rooftop terrace at sunset, or move inside to one of the fireplaces when the temperature drops.
Each of the five bedrooms has its own bathroom, giving everyone a little extra privacy when travelling as a group. Air conditioning throughout the house and daily housekeeping, except on Sundays, make longer stays particularly comfortable.
Casa Abacete is also well placed for exploring Comporta, with the nearest sandy beach around 1.8km away and the area’s restaurants, village life and golf within easy reach.
Casa Abacete puts you within easy reach of some of Comporta’s best - known beaches and the small village of Carvalhal. Days here tend to revolve around the coast, whether that means swimming, surfing, walking along the sand or settling in for a long lunch overlooking the Atlantic.
Praia do Carvalhal is particularly convenient, with a wide stretch of sand backed by dunes and pine trees, as well as beach restaurants and facilities. Nearby Praia do Pego provides another option for a day by the sea, while golfers can make the most of the courses found around Carvalhal and Comporta.
Away from the beach, the surrounding area is characterised by pine forests, rice fields and small villages. Comporta itself is worth visiting for its shops and restaurants, while local menus make good use of fresh fish, seafood and the rice grown in the surrounding fields. Cycling, horse riding, surfing and birdwatching offer plenty of ways to explore beyond the villa.
